swimming for visitor use

The Kyoto YMCA swimming pool is opened to adults for swimming, training and other water exercises, such as walking.
This pool is not intended for non-exercisers or for playing.

Open Days:

  • Monday to Saturday (CLOSED: Sundays & Holidays)

Available Hours:

  • 07:00 – 08:30
  • 09:30 – 13:00 (Sat. 9:00 – 12:30)
  • 18:30 – 21:00 (Sat.18:45 – 21:00)

Charge:

¥2,000- per time slot

  • people aged 16 and older only *People under 16 years of age may not use the pool even if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • YMCA members receive a 500 yen discount *Please show your membership card at the reception desk.

Facilities:

  • Indoor Swimming pool (25m × 5 lanes, 1 to 1.2meters depth, Water temperature 29.5 degrees Celsius)
  • Sauna
  • Strech Room (self-use only, no attendants or no machines)

Things to Bring:

  • Swimsuit *fitness or competition type only
  • Swim cap
  • Towel

Rental Items:
Swimsuit/towel: 100 yen per use
Swim cap/goggles: Free

Tattoos/Accessories:
Tattoos must be covered with tape, stickers, or rash guards.
All accessories must be removed.
Wearable devices must be protected by cover bands.

Application for use:

  • Please submit the Visitor Use Application Form at the reception desk on the 6th floor. Wi-Fi is not available. Paper application forms are also available.
  • Receive a locker key and go to the changing room on the 5th floor. The pool is accessible from the changing rooms. Please return the locker key to the 6th floor when you leave.
  • Please return rental items to the 6th floor.
  • Follow the lifeguards’ instructions in the pool area.

Pool Rules:

Please kindly understand and follow our Swimming Pool User’s Rules.

  • Persons who have had alcohol or are restricted from exercise are not allowed to use the pool.
  • Be sure to take a shower before entering the pool.
  • Please remove all makeup and come in.
  • Swim on the right side of the pool lane.
  • Passing is not allowed. If you catch up with the swimmer in front of you, turn around on the spot.
  • Beginners and walkers should use lanes 1 and 2, fast swimmers should use lane 4.
  • Snorkels, fins, paddles are not allowed.
  • Be sure to ask the staff about the use of equipment such as swimming boards.
  • Please give and take so that everyone can be comfortable.
